Iceberg

Dropcity, Milano, Italy

The elaboration of data collected by weather stations is of vital importance not only for monitoring current weather conditions, but as a tool for developing predictive weather models and for measuring climate change dynamics. In cities, these monitoring tools are commonly perceived as a source of visual and physical disturbance, and are usually camouflaged and hidden.
Iceberg consists of a set of environmental monitoring stations conceived as an integral part of the urban landscape. Visible and iconic, these elements integrate meteorology, climatology and the open space design, associating the scientific value of monitoring tools with the aesthetic and cultural ones.

Iceberg proposes a renewed understanding and communication of climatic phenomena not limited to sector experts.
